This will be our second retreat at the Quaker Healing Centre.

Time to Listen, Space to Grow

8-12 November 2010
At Claridge House
Nr. Lingfield, Surrey

Organised by Rochester Local Meeting
Join us for five days of quality time or come along just for a day

Angela Davies and John Spencer will be facilitating this five day retreat and there will be three other presenters.
Valuing each individual’s own spiritual journey, this retreat is an opportunity to listen inwardly and connect with each other through a variety of activities such as:

• Healing
• Inner Journeying
• Discussion
• Bach Flower Remedies
• Creative Writing
• Patchwork

Each session is self-contained and participants can opt in or out without losing a sense of the overall theme.

Claridge House is a Quaker Healing Centre set in lovely gardens; the house is a wonderful place for a healing retreat. Full board includes breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and an evening meal. All catering is vegetarian and special diets can be catered for. There will be time in the afternoons to walk in the locality. The House has a very interesting library and some board games but there is no television!

Silemt Peace Vigil   Tue, 24 Aug 2010 03:42:21 GMT
At The Quaker Meeting House, Northgate, Rochester ME1

To mark the International Day for Prayer for Peace
You are invited to join us for a silent vigil

Tuesday 21 September 7.00 p.m. for one hour
Tea/Coffee will be served afterwards

The Quaker Peace Testimony (1660)
has been a source of inspiration to Friends through the centuries:

‘Our principle is, and our practices have always been, to seek peace, and to ensue it, and to follow after righteousness and the knowledge of God, seeking the good and welfare, and doing that which tends to the peace of all. All bloody principles and practices we do utterly deny, with all outward wars, and strife, and fightings with outward weapons, for any end, or under any pretence whatsoever, and this is our testimony to the whole world. That spirit of Christ by which we are guided is not changeable, so as once to command us from a thing as evil, and again to move unto it; and we do certainly know, and so testify to the world that the spirit of Christ which leads us into all Truth will never move us to fight and war against any man with outward weapons, neither for the kingdom of Christ, nor for the kingdoms of this world.’
