Empathy Action
Empathy Action, raising awareness of global deprivation

28th April at 1.15 pm at the Quaker Meeting House, Hollybush Lane, Sevenoaks, TN13 3TJ

Sandy Glanfield from Empathy Action will give a talk on their work to alleviate poverty, provide work to help communities support themselves, and simulate situations to give participants a glimpse of the challenges faced by those living in poverty.

Increase empathy and raise awareness of global deprivation thereby igniting a desire to take compassionate action


The talk is preceded by a Bring-and Share lunch at 12.15, which is after Meeting for Worship (10.30). All are welcome.

A talk about the Friends Ambulance Unit in WW1

The Quakers dilemma. Approximately 30% of Quakers fought in the First World War and the rest made a decision to object on one way or another. Harry Bott, using material from his grandfather's war letters, will talk about his life serving as a volunteer, straight out of school, in the Friends Ambulance Unit. Harry’s talk will give a history of the unit, how it operated and touch on some of the famous Quakers who were involved in the FAU during World War 1.

The talk is preceded by a Bring-and Share lunch at 12.15, which is after Meeting for Worship (10.30). All are welcome.

You are invited to a talk on 10th November at Sevenoaks Meeting House.
There will be a Bring and Share lunch at 12.00 and the talk will start at about 1.15.
The talk is by Judy Sweeney and Maikke Bruynoghe from the KUDIMBA CHARITY.
This is a charity which supports 8 vulnerable young people in Malawi.
